Gibson ’61 SG Standard with Sideways Vibrola 2013 Vintage Cherry – Excellent Condition 9.5/10

These classic guitars stand the test of time and sound phenomenal. This guitar hasn’t seen much play in its 9 years or so in existence and as such is in fantastic condition with just the tiniest nick to the top horn on the lower bout (see pictures).

The guitar sounds gorgeous plugged in too and is really well balanced and resonant at 7.5lb. The sideways vibrola plate adds the weight where you need it for a balanced feel and lovely smooth vibrato. It has the smaller 5 ply pickguard, larger headstock, vintage kluson tuners, “les paul” truss rod cover, and neck joint at the 22nd fret as you would expect on a 61.

The guitar plays beautifully and is nicely setup with 10s.

Body & Neck

It retains the matching resonant Mahogany trans finish body that offers huge sustain. The SG is also still as light as ever. Great for high-octane live shows or comfortable playing for hours on end at home.

Sound
Gibson’s 57 Classic pickups closely resemble the legendary tones of the classic era. They’re designed to faithfully recreate the PAF sound in a modern form. Their unbalanced coils give them the top-end bite and punchy tone.

Two tone and two volume knobs give you plenty of room to manoeuvre and shape a personal sound.

The Graph Tech nut and Kulson tuners combination ensures stable tuning so you can go wild with bends, vibrato and aggressive playing. Gibson have equipped the SG with a classy Sieways Vibrola for you to really get creative. Easy to clean and extreme comfort for the picking hand.
