Gibson Les Paul Standard Left Handed Ebony 2009. Excellent Condition 9.5/10.

Now nearly 15 years old this Les Paul is in excellent condition, with nothing untoward to speak of. It is great example of a well looked after instrument. Keep in mind this is a black guitar and is bound to show some polish marks or light surface swirls, which is absolutely normal. The guitar is very resonant and sounds monstrous thanks to its weight relieved body. It’s a fantastic weight at 8.2lbs and very playable, easy to keep in hand all night on stage.

The 2009 Les Paul Standard was an elegant revision of a true classic. Upgrades and new features of the 2009 year make it unique meaning in years to come its likely to be collectable.

Based on consumer feedback and a drive to uphold and enhance the legacy of the Les Paul Standard, Gibson decided to make some changes to the standard line. It begins at the neck, which features an enlarged neck tenon for maximum wood contact, and a new asymmetrical neck profile that makes it one of the most comfortable and playable necks ever offered. Locking Grover tuners with an improved gear ratio of 18:1 are also a first for the Les Paul with enhanced tuning stability.

Custom-made, gold-plated PCB potentiometers made by Bourns, give the Les Paul 2009 Standard a new level of sonic clarity and intensity. A set of Gibson’s Burstbucker Pro humbuckers deliver the powerful punch expected from a Les Paul, faithfully capturing the magic of Gibson’s legendary PAF pickups of the 1950s. A chambered mahogany body gives the 2009 Standard enhanced resonance, and a maple top pays homage to the iconic Les Pauls of the late 1950s.
