Gibson ES-355 TDC Factory Mono 1965 Cherry Red Wide Nut – Excellent Vintage Condition 8/10.

Early 1965 Gibson ES-355 TDC, factory mono with a wide 42mm nut. Excellent condition, cherry red finish, mahogany neck with an ebony fretboard, block position inlays and gold plated hardware. All parts appear to be original to the guitar aside from one replacement tone knob as does the upgraded Lifton case. The gold plating shows some signs of wear on the tuners, pickups and ABR-1 bridge.

It’s fitted with the holy grail Gibson PAF Patent Applied For Pickups which really do sound as good as all the hype suggests, without a shadow of a doubt the nicest pickups we’ve heard. Despite internet forum suggestions the gold plated PAFs were used in smaller numbers and can be found fitted in ES guitars all the way up until 1967. There are a few marks from normal use and couple of small dings here and there as you’d expect on any vintage guitar but otherwise theres very little in the way of damage or significant marks. The cherry finish remains very vibrant. The frets are in excellent condition and are original.

This guitar needs to be seen and played to see its full beauty and as such this one is collection or hand delivery only within the UK. Weight 8 lb 8 oz. Serial 307604 . Nut width: 42 mm.
