Gibson ES-335 DOT Re-Issue Maple Top, Back & Sides Dark Cherry Red 1995 – Excellent vintage condition – 9/10.

This particular guitar is an absolute gem, its been really well looked after in its 26years on the earth and is in the more sought after flame maple finish! – If your looking for a 335 that stands out, this is the one. It has a beautiful darker cherry hue and sounds truly beautiful with the ’57 classics (Our all time favourite Gibson pickups) with these earlier ones held in very high regard.

The guitar is a fantastic player and in excellent vintage, used condition with no significant dings, damage, dents or knocks other than the odd very minor blemish expected on a 26year old used guitar (the worst where a strap has rubbed on the back of the guitar and the binding has slightly bled on the very edge of the left horn – see images). The only change of note is the strap button being changed for a slightly wider profile non Gibson item in its usual position (no extra holes etc), presumably to improve strap stability. – The guitar is ageing beautifully with the Nickel hardwear just starting to tarnish on the pickup covers and grover machine heads. For a 26 year old used guitar its not seen much use and has been very well looked after in its time.

Gibson spared no expense on woods for this creation – the Top and Back are all a one piece Flame Maple with a really nice almost 3 Dimensional profile in the classic darker hue of the cherry red finish. It is difficult to photograph how great the flame is on this! Very classy indeed. The back of this guitar is almost as good as the front!

All hardware is nickel, and there’s a classic ABR-1 bridge with a stopbar tailpiece. Neck length is 24 3/4 inches with a 1 11/16-inch nut width. The figured top 335 come with Grover kidney-shaped tuners. All Gibson Memphis ES-335’s have powerful ’57 Classic humbucking pickups, two volume pots, two tone pots, and a three-way pickup selector switch.

The original Gibson hardcase with shroud is included.
