Gibson ES-330 TD 1963 Sunburst. 7.5/10 Good Vintage condition.
The guitar looks to be original aside from a later 60s Gibson P90 bridge pickup, changed tuners with conversion bushings and switch tip.
The body features earlier “mickey mouse” contours and a beautiful darker sunburst finish from the pre ’62 period. Quite a unique guitar to see with ’62 body contours and 63 features everywhere else. There is lacquer checking as you’d expect with only minor wear to the front of the body. There are a few small dings to the back of the body but nothing major to speak of. There are a few dings here and there to the back of the neck and the finish is worn as you’d expect with any vintage guitar. See pictures.
There are no breaks or repairs to the guitar. The guitar has previously been routed for a humbucker in the neck position back in the 1970s when that was a thing, this was done professionally and is a clean route. The original pickup has been put back in place, you’ll notice a 3mm gap between the pickup and end of the neck and is hardly noticeable. This can be moved back to its original position but the route is then revealed. The guitar has a re-fret with period correct fret-wire by Brian Eastwood Guitars ready for its new owner with the original binding in place, it sounds and play fantastically across the board as you would expect.
All hardware & electronics are in excellent working order with the nickel hardware in great shape. The binding has yellowed but is all intact, again with no repairs. The bridge pickup is a later 1960s Gibson P90 the neck pickup is original.
