A superb 2011 Gibson Dove in the classic Natural finish. This is an excellent condition, completely original example.

The Dove is one of Gibson’s most recognisable acoustic designs, and this Montana-built example has all the presence and character you would expect from one. The combination of a Sitka spruce top and figured maple back and sides gives the Dove a wonderfully clear, powerful voice, with plenty of projection, definition and a strong, punchy low end.

There have been no repairs or modifications, and the guitar remains as it left the Gibson factory. It has been exceptionally well looked after and presents extremely well, with only the sort of very minor signs of handling you would expect from a pre-owned instrument of this age. There is a tiny 1mm circular impression we can find to the lower side, incredibly hard to see. See images.

The longer 25.5″ scale gives the guitar a little more snap and articulation, making it equally rewarding for strumming, flatpicking and fingerstyle playing. There’s a real authority to the Dove acoustically too it has the volume and headroom to fill a room, while still responding beautifully to a lighter touch.

Visually, it’s classic Dove territory, with the ornate hand engraved and painted Dove pickguard, mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays, multi-ply binding and distinctive Dove bridge. The Natural finish really suits the cherry flame maple back, neck and sides, allowing the figuring to show through beautifully.

This guitar is fitted with the LR Baggs VTC pickup system, giving it excellent amplified versatility without compromising its acoustic character. It’s a very natural-sounding system and makes the Dove equally at home on stage or in the studio.

The guitar is supplied with its original Gibson hardshell case, check and warranty cards completing what is a very desirable package.

A great opportunity to own a classic Gibson Dove from 2011 in excellent, original condition. These are big-sounding, characterful acoustics with a distinctive look and a serious amount of presence and this is a particularly clean example.
