Gibson Custom Shop ’59 Les Paul Standard R9 1959 Historic Reissue 2015 Iced Tea Gloss – Excellent Condition 9.75/10

This particular R9 has been carefully played over the last 8 years as far as we can see. It has just the odd sign its been used a few times and thats it, no significant dings, scratches, dents or damage. Other than the fact the guitar is “used” the guitars condition is fantastic. We’re struggling to see any visible imperfections unless under incredibly bright direct light. There is one almost invisible checking line next to the pickguard (impossible to see in daylight).

In 2015 Gibson had a good year with solid Rosewood fingerboards, historically accurate Aniline dyes, no sleeve truss rods and custombucker PAFs with bumblebee capacitors. All the usual features carried over including exact duplication of the neck profile and top carve from an original ’59 Burst along with the long neck tenon, lightweight tailpiece, lightweight 1 piece body and neck. The finish is very thin and looks as good as we have ever seen from Gibson. All 2015 guitars feature hot hide glue construction, a historically accurate ’59 hand finished top and neck carve and are fitted with historic parts, with period correct hardware and electronics.

This one has a really really nice top with quite a unique wild flame, almost in between a flame and quilt top. Its a nice wide, ribbon flame/quilt with some absolutely gorgeous 3 dimension to it with tons of movement (also making it very difficult to photograph!). All woods are hand selected and graded with tight grain and exceptional flame/quilt as you’d expect on the very best in the Gibson line.

It has a great vintage look and looks highly accurate with the gloss finish, gorgeous maple top and Historic parts. The tone is pure magic. This one can do it all and is particularly rich and full sounding while still retaining its clarity, not to mention its fantastic condition.
