Gibson Custom Shop Historic Made To Measure R8/9 1958/9 Les Paul Standard Historic Reissue 2021. Amber Burst VOS – Mint Condition 9.75/10.

This was a custom order directly from the Gibson using the “Made To Measure” Platform. The guitar is a 58 burst, with hand selected woods and a 59 neck profile and custom finish.

What a guitar! One of the nicest custom shop examples we’ve had in for a little while. Technically a 1958 R8 with a customer chosen top, back, 59 neck-profile, True Historic parts and custom Amber Burst finish.

One of the nicest sounding and looking 1958 Les Paul Historic Reissues we’ve ever had in stock. A beautifully flamed top with plenty of natural marbling along with the custom Amber Burst finish really sets it off with some stunning 3Dimensional looks to the wood in different lights.

Weighing in at 8.5lbs and being nicely balanced this particular R8 has been played with the utmost care and treasured by its previous owner. The scratchplate has not been fitted (we’d keep it that way with a top like this!) Condition wise its an under the bed “case queen” and has been carefully played over the last years or so as far as we can see. It has just the odd sign its been played with some binding bleed on the neck, which is normal on these models. No dings, scratches, dents or damage. Other than the fact the guitar is “used” the guitars condition is fantastic.

In terms of the ever improving 58 and 59 reissues, 2021 was a fantastic year and is the most historically accurate model you can buy right now in terms of features and finish. This particular model features historically accurate body contours from a 1958 guitar with a 1959 neck profile and beautiful flame maple top alongside true historic parts, with period correct hardware, electronics and hand wound custom wound unpotted 58 PAF pickups.

The guitar has a great vintage look and tone with the VOS hardware finish, gorgeous flame maple top and True Historic parts. The tone is pure magic. This one can do it all at 8.5lb and is particularly rich and full sounding while still retaining its clarity. Not to mention its fantastic condition.
