Gibson Montana Custom Shop Early 60’s Hummingbird 2015 Cherry Sunburst Fixed Bridge. 9.99/10 Mint Condition.

Probably one of the most Iconic and beautiful acoustics ever to grace planet earth, the Gibson Hummingbird has the looks and the sounds to conquer all. This particular guitar is in exceptional condition and could easily hang in the shop as NEW. It even smells new! There are no blemishes or playwear we can find at all. The guitar is well setup and has that deep “bell” like chime these guitars are re-known for. Used by countless artists since its inception the Hummingbird has been numerous high profile recordings and catches the eye beautifully, just look at that hand painted pickguard!

Being an early 60’s model these models were a pre-cursor to the early “Historic” spec Hummingbird thermally aged guitars introduced in 2014. Being a 2015 this will be one of the very last of these to leave the Bozeman Gibson Custom Acoustic facility in Montana. Prior to the 1960 historic noted above the Early 60’s Hummingbird were the most accurate recreation of an early 60’s Hummingbirds. Note no electronics are installed on these guitars.

Being from the Gibson Acoustic custom shop the attention to detail on this guitar is very high as you’d expect. The guitar features a historically accurate construction with 2 piece Sitka Spruce top with Mahogany neck, back and sides finished in the gorgeous Cherry Sunburst. This guitar plays like an absolute dream with the neck profile being a slimmer profile rounded C than used traditionally on the “standard” models, much like in the early 60’s and very similar to an original 61 I have played.

Features include a fixed bridge with hand painted cellulose pick guard, gold hardwear, keystone tuners, hide glue construction, 7 ply binding front & back, a bound neck with fret edge binding, historic truss rod assembly, double parallelogram inlays with mother of pearl emblem and logo along with historic bracing and a single strap button – just as they would have been in the early 60’s.
