Gibson Custom Shop ’57 1957 Les Paul Goldtop R7 Reissue 2019 Double Gold Dark Back VOS. Excellent Condition. 9/10.

The iconic ’57 Goldtop has been the tool of choice for countless guitar heroes, you could be next!
It’s beautifully elegant double gold finish with one piece body and neck with maple cap and versatile custom wound 57 PAF humbucking pickups make use wonder “what else can you need in a guitar?”.

This particular guitar is the more sought after “darkback” version produced in smaller numbers. The guitar is in excellent condition with just a few small blemishes to the headstock edge and some visible buckle rash as pictured. We’d describe the condition as excellent with no significant dings, dents, scratches or damage. The guitar is completely original and has been exceptionally well looked after and “played in” with (in our opinion) just the right amount of wear on a ’57 Goldtop. The nickel hardwear is tarnishing nicely too.

This is probably why the ’57 gained the reputation as the “working man’s Les Paul” – less flashy than its figured-top sunburst counterparts from 1958-1960 but almost identical under the hood and some prefer the elegant beauty a goldtop brings. It has tones to die for and so versatile you can play it in a jazz club no problems at all, play it in a hard rock band and every other genre in between – it covers a lot of bases.

This 2019 Historic Series recreation exemplifies Gibson Custom Shop’s tireless quest for exacting accuracy to the original year of production, from the woods sleected to the construction to the parts and precise contours throughout the guitar build.

Two new updates for 2019 include the inclusion of all True Historic-spec parts and plastics along with narrow/tall frets which bring the tone and playability closer to the character of the originals. The guitar features the greener copper based Double Gold finish, historically accurate electronics, a beautifully dark rosewood board with period correct inlays and the exceptional sounding unpotted ’57 Custom Bucker pickups.

The guitar includes all case candy, certificate of authenticity and period correct hardcase as pictured.
