Designed in collaboration with Green Day’s frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, these earlier Les Paul Junior models are now quite sought after. These guitars were built to capture the raw energy and timeless tone that defines Billie’s signature sound. Stripped down and no‑frills, the guitar is built for punk, rock’n’roll and guitarists who demand simplicity without excess.

This particular Junior has been used but is still in very good condition. There are some minor dings and scratches to the sides and back of the guitar in all the usual places as well as a small scratch to the headstock fascia (see images). In our opinion this only adds to the “Punk Rock” vibe.

The guitar features a solid mahogany body with set mahogany neck for excellent resonance and sustain. The neck unusually features a custom slim taper profile for faster, more comfortable playability than your typical Les Paul Junior. A rosewood fretboard with medium jumbo frets allow for ease of bending and aggressive playing. The single bridge pickup takes care of tone with the Gibson H90 / Billie Joe signature pickup. Effectively a stacked P90 for that gritty, powerful single‑coil tone without the hum of a traditional P90.

With more simplicity in mind this Junior features vintage style tuners and a wraparound tailpiece for more simplicity and direct transmission of vibration along with the Juniors simple control layout: one volume, one tone. Everything you need and nothing you don’t. Billie Joe’s signature is on the back of the neck along with the super desirable leopard print hardshell case.
