Fender Custom Shop NAMM ’59 Reissue Stratocaster Heavy Relic 2017 Sherwood Green Ltd Run 2017, Roasted Maple Neck. Mint 9.75/10.

Wow – what do we say about this one, only a handful of these were made for the 2017 NAMM show and are pretty special. This is one of the few we know of that made it to the UK and was made for the NAMM show in 2017. If your reading this you probably already know how sought after the roasted relics are. 2017 was the 30th Anniversary of the Custom Shop.

The Limited Edition Relic ’59 Heavy Relic Roasted Strat boasts a fiery tone, thanks to a quartersawn & roasted maple neck and roasted alder body with Relic lacquer finish, matched to hand-wound Texas Special Strat pickups with vintage modern wiring #2 as the special sauce, allowing for tone control on the bridge pickup so you can really dial in that tone.

Other features include an AAA Rosewood Slab Board with vintage clay dots and a ’59 Esquire C Profile with 9.5” radius. 21 6100 Jescar jumbo frets complete the neck. Super nice detailing on the relic job too with its gold anodised 8-hole aluminium pickguard with wear points simulated beautifully around the control knobs and scratch picking area. The original deluxe hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity are included.

This particular guitar has been part of a private collection and as such has been extremely well looked after and not seen much use. The guitar has been aged to perfection by Fenders best as you would expect.

Plugged in the guitar sounds fabulous and really can do it it all with that additional tone knob on adjustability on the bridge pickup. The wear and attention to detail really is exceptionally well executed on this one.
