Fender Custom Shop NAMM Limited Run Heavy Relic Stratocaster. 2008, Seafoam Green over 3 Tone Sunburst. Mint 9.5/10.

Wow – what do we say about this one, only a handful of these were made for the 2008 NAMM show, this being the only one in this colour. This is the only one we know of in the UK. If your reading this you probably already know how sought after any colour over a sunburst finish is.

This particular guitar has been part of a private collection and as such has been extremely well looked after and not seen much use if at all. The guitar has been aged to perfection by Fenders best as you would expect.You’ll notice on the floor traveller this guitar has many distinct custom features. A custom ’60 oval C big neck profile with slab board and a note on the traveller to refer to an original wear pattern. The pickups are hand wound and custom to the guitar, a 69 in the neck, fat 50s middle and a Texas special in the bridge for that overwound hot blues tone!PLEASE VIEW Floor Traveller image to see exact specs.

The Fender Custom Shop NAMM 1962 Stratocaster is one of the most exciting Strats to come through our shop in recent months. First off, the relic’ing “wear” pattern is stunning, it has the sought after slab Rosewood board. These NAMM guitars are always meticulously recreated and could easily pass as an original refinished model. The Custom Shop shows their true artistry when it comes to making an instrument look old.Putting looks aside, tone and playability is where this instrument really shines. The back of the neck has been worn “smooth to the wood” and the Large Oval “C” back shape feels instantly comfortable, and has been made even more playable with tall skinny 6105 frets and a 9.5” radius fretboard.

A great selection of hand wound pickups round out this “Player’s” Strat with very dynamic, and vocally articulate, 69 in the neck, fat 50s middle and a Texas special in the bridge for that overwound hot blues tone! This fantastic sounding pickup set is made even more flexible with a dedicated tone control for the bridge and neck pickup. No tone control on that middle pickup for that extra thick sound without the harsh mids.
