Fender Custom Shop NAMM Limited Run 1956 Roasted Relic Stratocaster. 2017, Aged Vintage White with Birdseye Roasted Maple Neck. Mint 9.75/10.

Wow – what do we say about this one, only a handful of these were made for the 2017 NAMM show and are pretty special, this being the only one in this colour. This is the only one we know of in the UK and was made for the NAMM show in 2017. If your reading this you probably already know how sought after the roasted relics are. 2017 was the 30th Anniversary of the Custom Shop.

The Limited Edition Relic ’56 Fat Roasted Strat boasts a fiery tone, thanks to a roasted maple neck and roasted alder body with Relic lacquer finish, matched to hand-wound Fat ‘60s Strat pickups with Fat ‘50s wiring as the special sauce. This wiring offers bold tone with transparent bloom while reducing treble loss when adjusting the instrument’s volume. It also smooths the control tapers, avoiding the typical hotspots when adjusting your volume or tone. Other features include an AA birdseye maple neck with “10/56 ‘V’”-shaped profile, 9.5” radius fingerboard, 21 6100 jumbo frets, gold 8-hole Aluminium pickguard and American Vintage six-point synchronised tremolo. A deluxe hardshell case, strap and Certificate of Authenticity are included.

This particular guitar has been part of a private collection and as such has been extremely well looked after and not seen much use, if at all. The guitar has been aged to perfection by Fenders best as you would expect.

You’ll notice on the floor traveller this guitar has many distinct custom features. A custom one piece quartersawn roasted birdseye maple neck with V profile which feels amazing as well as looking the part. Plugged in the guitar sounds fabulous and really can do it it all. The wear and attention to detail really is exceptionally well executed on this one.

The Fender Custom Shop NAMM 1956 Stratocaster is one of a select few exciting Strats to come through our shop in recent months. First off, the relic’ing “wear” pattern is stunning, these NAMM guitars are always meticulously recreated and could easily pass as an original model with years of use on stage. The Custom Shop shows their true artistry when it comes to making an instrument look old.
