Fender Custom Shop 1959 ’59 Reissue Stratocaster Relic 2022 Aged Shoreline Gold. 9.5/10 Excellent Condition.

A beautiful guitar and an incredible limited run custom specification to boot. This is one of our dream spec custom shop Strats to pass through the shop. The guitar is in excellent used condition 9.5/10 (obviously excluding the relic finish).

The guitar is all original and unmodified as you’d wish for. It features an Alder body in the limited run Aged Shoreline Gold flash coat nitrocellulose lacquer, just like some of the real pre-cbs strats. A gorgeous rift-sawn Maple neck with a AAA grade Rosewood board with micarta white dots keep it comfortable with a 60 C oval profile and 9.5 radius. With the finish removed from the 1st to 12th fret by the Fender Custom Shop it makes for a beautifully comfortable and playable neck. It’s probably one of the darkest Rosewood boards we’ve seen, the grain is lovely and tight.

The guitar is very resonant and has that signature super versatile strat tone as it is spec’d with 3 x handwound Texas Special’s from the Fender Custom Shop. These pickups provide plenty of headroom with fewer turns of heavy formvar wire on the bobbin and beveled alnico 2 magnets for that underwound signature sound of the original 60s strats. Handwound pickups add a huge tonal difference as the copper wire is spread more irregularly (scattered) onto the bobbin, resulting in less electrical capacitance which results in a much more open sound.

The sale includes the case and all candy in the images. Present is the certificate of authenticity and shop floor traveller. The ageing and attention to detail with the finish is sublime, the checking is really nicely done and the Aged Shoreline Gold always looks incredible on a ’59 Strat! The strat is a nice weight at the 7.2lb mark, with its Alder body and stunning 60 C shape rift sawn maple neck. It has a thin and tastefully reliced Nitro finish with the usual relic features. The more you play the more of the beautiful guitar you’ll unveil!

The guitar is very resonant, has fantastic response and superb performance across the board as you’d expect. A real delight to play as you would expect. Save yourself £1000 on a new one! This one was purchased by the original owner from Peach Guitars, the original video demo of this exact guitar is still on the site.
