Wow – what a guitar! This is one of the lighter Strats we’ve seen pass through the shop at 7.3lbs on our scales. One of the more accurate Relics we’ve seen with fantastic attention to detail. The guitar is in excellent used condition 9.5/10 (obviously excluding the Journeyman relic finish).

The guitar is all original and unmodified. It features a custom order thin skin Catalina Blue paint finish over a 2 piece ash body with lovely one piece maple neck. The neck profile is the a 57 soft V, lovely and comfortable for all hands and players. The relic detail really gives that “played in feel” to the finish make for a beautifully comfortable neck and body. Its probably one of the nicest relics we’ve seen in a while in a very hard to find colour-way. Fender got it right that day!

The guitar is very resonant with its Ash body and thin Nitrocellulose paint finish. Metallic paint finishes are notoriously difficult to spray and this Catalina Blue one is no exception, the finish is so beautifully thin allowing the body to truly “breathe”, you can even see how the finish has “sunk” into the grain in the Ash body underneath! Electronically it has that signature super versatile strat tone as it is spec’d with 3 x Ancho Poblano pickups with 5 way switch handwound by Bricenda Pineda. These are highly sought after and our favourite Strat pickups on the market with some great tones, get your SRV on without having to use 13s!

The one piece Maple neck with Journeyman Relic finish is super comfortable and highly playable with a 9.5′ radius and Medium Jumbo frets. The neck profile is a ’57 soft “V” profile, which measures 0.850″ at the 1st fret and 0.990″ at the 12th fret. You can really feel the “V” in the neck shape from the 1st to 5th fret but it flattens out to more of a “C” shape as you go further up the neck.

The sale includes the tweed case (sadly one broken latch) and all candy in the images. Present is the certificate of authenticity, ash tray cover, tremolo arm and strap.

The more you play the more of the beautiful this guitar will look! The guitar is very resonant, has fantastic response and superb performance across the board. A real delight to play as you would expect. Save yourself £1000+ on a new one… thats if you can find a Catalina Blue finish!
