Fender Custom Shop ’56 1956 Reissue Stratocaster Relic 2008 Vintage Blonde Time Machine. 9.5/10 Excellent Condition.

The Custom Shop Time Machine series guitars are as close as Fender could get at the time to the originals. These guitars are made from original early Fender tooling, made to the same exacting specifications from back in the day and are hand finished using the same tools and techniques. Just like they did in ’56.

This particular guitar is no exception and really feels and sounds like an original ’56. The Relic finish isn’t too over the top (as some can be) with great attention to detail. This particular guitar has the sought after one piece Ash body, with 1956 being a transitional year between Ash and the now infamous Alder bodies.

The neck on this one is sublime to play and has a nice low action with the lovely “boat neck” “V” profile. The hardware is nicely aged and looks fantastic against the beautiful grain of the Ash along with the Transparent Blonde “thin skin” Nitro finish. The guitar is lightweight and very resonant at 7.3lbas you’d expect with the very best select tonewoods available from Fender. Plugged in it has that beautiful Strat tone and can do it all with it’s custom wound 50’s pickups.

Considering the guitar is over 12 years old this guitar has barely seen any play time and as such is in fantastic condition with no additional marks, damage, dings or wear that weren’t created by the Custom Shop. This guitar has mostly sat under a bed for a few years gathering dust and played now and again.
