Fender Custom Shop 1951 Telecaster Relic Limited Run 2021 Aged Lake Placid Blue – Excellent Condition 9.5/10.

An absolutely gorgeous tele with a beautiful Lake Placid Blue relic finish straight out of the Fender Custom shop.

This one hasn’t seen much use and is pretty much as it left the shop with a fantastic Montys 5 way loom harness upgrade (original custom shop loom included) which we’ll go into shortly. The Lake Placid Blue finish looks fantastic with the wood grain showing through its super lightweight ash body. A very nice relic with a very beautiful attention to detail with finish checking all over, the odd ding to the body here and there (all created by the artisans at the Fender Custom Shop).

The guitar is beautifully resonant with great tone at 6.15lbs, featuring custom shop 50/51 handwound blackguard pickups, a comfortable and robust feeling 10/56 V shaped profile (1st fret .910 & 12th fret 1.000) heavy relic neck and ash body so you get that lovely “worn in” feel. Just like you’ve played it on stage all these years. The Ash body has a very thin nitrocellulose finish, really allowing the wood to “breathe” and give the guitar extra resonance. You can see the beautiful grain of the Ash underneath the paint so the more this guitar is played it’s only ever going to look even better!

The pickups are particularly sweet sounding on this model and it sounds fantastic plugged in. A great example of a telecaster thats just a little bit different than the usual blonde finish available. The Montys loom upgrade really helps to bring out the very best of the guitar featuring 5 way switching and allowing you to blend both pickups together alongside the traditional 3 positions. The Montys loom is put together using the very best components on the market, with an Oak Grigsby 5 way switch, CTS pots, Russian paper in oil capacitors and vintage correct pushback wire. The original Fender Custom Shop harness is included and can very easily be re-installed as required.
