Fender Custom Shop ’51 Reissue Nocaster NAMM Ltd Run Heavy Relic Aged Black 2008. Excellent Condition 9.5/10.

A much sought after ’51 No Caster Relic in a super cool aged black finish. This is #32 of a limited run of 50 guitars made for the NAMM show in 2008. Being a limited run model this one is a little different to others out there, with its beautifully aged black heavy relic finish, modern wiring, a twisted tele neck pickup and a broadcaster flat pole pickup in the bridge. Its a slinky player, light and resonant. You can cover a lot of tone with this one!

The Fender Custom Shop do some pretty special things at times and at 7.1lb this is one of them. The guitar just keeps ringing with its lightweight Ash body and quartersawn one piece maple neck. The lightweight Ash body has some lovely grain showing through and is finished in a lush aged black nitro lacquer with heavy relic finish. The quartersawn one piece Maple neck has a smooth very playable feel to it. With a 9.50″ radius and 21 frets, featuring a Nocaster U profile, it feels comfortable and robust just like a vintage Fender should. Period correct appointments are used throughout the guitar with no modifications from the stock custom shop spec. The finish will wear beautifully over time and develop even more of its own character the more you play it.

The Telecaster design is considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar and the Custom Shop ’51 Nocaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele’ twang. With modern wiring, a twisted tele custom shop pickup in the neck and a broadcaster flat pole in the bridge it has a lot of tonal options compared to the usual specs on these guitars. Super versatile and lush sounding guitar!
