The Fender Custom Shop Limited Run 1967 Stratocaster HSS Heavy Relic in Faded Aged Black is a vintage-inspired Stratocaster built to Custom Shop dream specs. The guitar is in exceptional condition and hasn’t seen much use at all, it is afterall a 2025 guitar! In our opinion is the perfect crossover guitar to cover all bases, a true one guitar to rule them all! Nearly half the price of a new one too…

With period-correct appointments and a worn, played-in nitrocellulose finish the guitar is super comfortable. It features an alder body with thinly applied nitrocellulose lacquer with heavy ageing. The neck is quartersawn maple with a super dark tight grain AAA rosewood fingerboard and the super comfortable ’65 Stratocaster “C” profile, ensuring ultimate stability with fantastic feel. The fingerboard is inlaid with real mother of pearl and more unusually for Fender is a 12″ (Gibson) radius meaning huge bends are possible and is much more “Gibson” in feel combined with sought after mid 60’s Strat neck profile. The heavy relic treatment continues throughout the guitar with period correct hardwear adding to the player-ready looks and that true comfort of a “broken in” finish.

Sound wise the dual mag II single coil handwound single coil pickups can do it all. They offer a balanced tone with rich lows and shimmering highs, achieved by using two types of alnico magnets (Alnico 5 for bass/mids, Alnico 2 for treble) and a unique “low G” magnet for smooth string transition. Copper shielding and an RWRP (reverse wound, reverse polarity) middle pickup aids noise reduction, whilst still offering vintage feel with modern clarity and power. The shawbucker in the bridge has you covered for everything else providing fuller bridge tones for rock and blues while the handwired single-coils retain the twang and clarity expected from a Strat from the golden era of guitar production.
