Fender Custom Shop 1963 ’63 Reissue Stratocaster Relic Sunburst 2019. Excellent Condition 9.5/10.

If your looking for a dream spec ’63 custom shop Strat thats super versatile, this is the one! The guitar is in excellent used condition 9.5/10 (obviously excluding the heavy relic finish).

The guitar is all original and unmodified. It features a 2 piece Alder body and Maple neck with a AAA grade Rosewood board. A comfortable ’65 C shaped neck profile quartersawn from maple with a AAA grade Rosewood board with 9.5 radius make for a beautifully playable neck. It’s probably one of the darker Rosewood boards we’ve seen, the grain is lovely and tight.

The guitar is very resonant and has that signature super versatile strat tone as it is spec’d with 3 x hand-wound custom shop pickups. The pickup selection is super versatile featuring a 69 in the neck for that signature Hendrix tone, a 65 in the middle and a Texas special for that bit more cut through in the bridge. The hand-wound pickups add a huge tonal difference as the copper wire is spread more irregularly (scattered) onto the bobbin, resulting in less electrical capacitance which results in a much more open sound.

The sale includes the case and all candy in the images. Present is the certificate of authenticity and shop floor traveller. The ageing and attention to detail on this one is sublime. This strat is a nice round weight at the 7.9lb mark, Alder body and stunning 65 C shape quartersawn maple neck. It has a thin and tastefully reliced Nitro finish with the usual relic features. The more you play the more of the beautiful Alder body you’ll see!

The guitar is very resonant, has fantastic response and superb performance across the board as you’d expect. A real delight to play as you would expect. Save yourself £1500 on a new one!
