A beautiful guitar, one of our favourite “custom colour” colour Strats to pass through the shop. The guitar is in excellent used condition 9.5/10 (obviously excluding the relic finish).

The guitar is all original and unmodified. It features an Alder body in the classic Candy Apple Red flash coat nitrocellulose lacquer, just like some of the slightly later real pre-cbs strats. A gorgeous Maple neck with a AAA grade Rosewood board with micarta white dots keep it comfortable with a beautiful feeling heavy relic 60 C oval profile and 9.5″ radius. Aside from the heavy relic finish the guitar is “immaculate” with no issues.

The guitar is very resonant and has that signature super versatile strat tone as it is spec’d with 3 x handwound fat ’60’s Relic pickups from the Fender Custom Shop. These pickups provide plenty of headroom with fewer turns of heavy formvar wire on the bobbin and beveled alnico 2 magnets for that underwound signature sound of the original 60s strats. Handwound pickups add a huge tonal difference as the copper wire is spread more irregularly (scattered) onto the bobbin, resulting in less electrical capacitance which results in a much more open sound. A RWRP (reverse wound, reverse polarity) middle pickup aids noise reduction, whilst still offering vintage feel with modern clarity and power should you need it.

The sale includes the case and all candy in the images. Present is the certificate of authenticity and shop floor traveller. The ageing and attention to detail with the finish is sublime, the checking is really nicely done and Candy Apple Red always looks incredible on a Strat! This one is a nice weight and super comfortable to play, with its Alder body and stunning 60 C shape maple neck. It has a thin and tastefully heavy reliced Nitro finish with the usual relic features. The more you play the more of the beautiful guitar you’ll unveil!

The guitar is very resonant, has fantastic response and superb performance across the board as you’d expect. A real delight to play as you would expect. Save yourself £2000 on a new one!
