The Gretsch G6120T-BSNSH Brian Setzer Signature Nashville is a seriously cool take on the classic 6120, built around the specifications Brian Setzer has made famous throughout his career. Finished in Black Lacquer, this single-cutaway hollowbody combines classic Gretsch styling with a player’s specification designed for Setzer’s distinctive rockabilly and rock ‘n’ roll sound.
This particular example has maybe been played maybe a handful of times and as such is in near perfect condition with nothing we can see to deract from the guitar at all. The body is constructed from laminated maple and features 1959 trestle bracing and oversized F-holes, giving the guitar plenty of acoustic projection while retaining the focused response associated with this style of Gretsch.
The maple neck has a Vintage “V” profile and is fitted with an ebony fingerboard featuring a 9.5″-12″ compound radius and 22 medium-jumbo frets. The rolled fingerboard edges make for a particularly comfortable playing feel, whether you’re working through chords or letting loose with faster lead lines.
At the heart of the guitar are a pair of TV Jones Brian Setzer Signature Filter’Tron pickups. These deliver the tight, punchy low end and slightly hotter output associated with Brian’s signature sound, giving you plenty of attack, clarity and that unmistakable Gretsch character.
The control layout is deliberately period-correct, with individual neck and bridge volume controls, a master volume with treble bleed, a three-position pickup selector and a three-position tone switch.
Hardware is equally well considered, with a Bigsby B6C vibrato, Adjusto-Matic bridge with pinned rosewood base, Delrin nut and Gotoh locking tuners. The combination gives you the classic looks and feel of a 6120 while keeping things practical for regular playing and gigging.
Visually, this is about as iconic as Gretsch gets: black nitrocellulose lacquer, aged white binding, nickel hardware, gold plexi pickguard bearing Brian Setzer’s signature and Gretsch logo, plus the distinctive dice and G-Arrow control knobs.
A fantastic choice for anyone after a high-end Gretsch with genuine Brian Setzer DNA. It’s a guitar built around the classic 6120 formula but with the performance features and pickup specification to make it a serious player’s instrument.
