This is a gorgeous VOS 2024 ’61 Historic Spec SG from the Gibson Custom Shop. These guitars really do stand the test of time and sound phenomenal. This guitar hasn’t seen much play in its 1 year or so in existence and as such is in fantastic condition with no marks or blemishes aside from the factory aged VOS treatment and two tiny 1mm impressions to the bottom edge that are very hard to see (see photo).

The guitar sounds gorgeous plugged in as you would expect. 2024 was a great year for Gibson with introduction of a less slanted Gibson logo and unpotted Custom Bucker pickups and handwired electronics. Other updates included using paper-in-oil (PIO) capacitors and audio taper CTS pots for improved volume and tone roll-off, while super thin nitrocellulose finishes are applied as standard. 2024 models also feature Indian or Bolivian rosewood fretboards and are considered the most historically accurate reissues to date. All of these changes add up, meaning guitars feel more and more like an original. This one really is no exception and you’d be hard pressed to tell them apart. The guitar is really well balanced and super resonant as you would expect up there with the very best in the Gibson custom shop line.

Gibson Custom Shop instruments typically feature the very best tone-woods and extra detail during the ageing process. Just check out the photos of the thin nitrocellulose finish and lightly aged hardware.

The guitar plays beautifully and is nicely setup with 10s for the new owner.
