A true golden-era classic, this “Time Machine” Custom Shop ’64 Jazz Bass reissue absolutely nails the look, feel and sound of one of the most iconic basses ever made. From the beautifully aged finish to the punchy Custom Shop handwound pickups, this one delivers all the guts, growl and warmth you’d hope for from a bass of this calibre.

The condition of the guitar is superb throughout, with only the lightest relic work giving it that perfectly broken-in, period-correct vibe. The finish is rich and vibrant, with nothing of significance to report aside from the original relic finish.

The neck feels fantastic in the hand – smooth, comfortable and fast – with minimal wear and loads of life left in the vintage frets. It’s exactly what you want from a well-executed Custom Shop build. Electronics are completely original and untouched, and the hardware is all in excellent shape, doing exactly what it should without fuss.

All in all, this is a stunning example of historically accurate Fender Custom Shop craftsmanship – equally at home hanging in a serious collection or slung over your shoulder on stage, doing what it was meant to do… it even comes with a period correct case!
