Now 25 years old and completely unmodified this early 2000’s Les Paul Studio is in fantastic condition for its age. It really does sound exceptional with all the sought after Les Paul tones you could wish for. A fine example of quality Gibson “Good Wood” era craftsmanship, on a budget.

This particular guitar is a fantastic player, it has just had a fret-dress for the new owner and has been exceptionally well cared for with nothing significant to speak of. Even the headstock hasn’t started checking which is very unusual for these guitars! No significant dings, damage, dents or knocks to report – just ageing associated with light use, some extremely minor surface swirls, very minor impressions here and there and minor marks (only visible in harsh and direct light), it was difficult for us to even photograph them. There is a tiny bit of paint missing on the lower edge of the body (pictured) and a small wear mark on the 3rd fret of the high E string. Please keep in mind the guitar is a 25 year old used guitar.

The Les Paul Studio features a slightly (1/8 inch or 3mm) slimmer body profile to the Les Paul Standard and has been that way since its inception in 1983. This means Gibson could keep the guitar weight down, offer great value for money and a more comfortable profile that is a slightly different guitar to a Les Paul Standard but still catches all the tonal options. Neck wise the guitar features a comfortable 60’s rounded C profile with a nice tight grain dark-rosewood board.

Plugged in the guitar sounds excellent and has plenty of grit should you need it with Gibson 490R & the 498T pickups as standard equipment. These pickups are super versatile with the 490R having a warmer, more open sound and the 498T in the bridge having a higher output and responsiveness to player input.

The original Gibson Les Paul Studio hardcase is included, which is slightly slimmer and hard to come by on these models.

These guitars are now highly sought after amongst players and collectors alike as the era is re-known for great woods, hand-wired electronics and excellent attention to detail. Grab it while you can!
